As expected, Apple has announced an updated line of Power Mac G5 workstations. While the $2,999 model with two liquid-cooled 2.5 GHz processors grabs most of the headlines, the most significant portion of the announcement is the return to dual-processor workstations across the board. The dual 1.8 GHz “low-end” Power Mac, for example, is plenty fast and can be had for $1,999.
